Are the World’s Weather and Climate Changing?


Students use critical reading skills to gather facts about weather and climate change, conduct research about an assigned weather topic and create an interactive project/presentation that can be used to teach classmates about a weather topic.

Global Warming Statistics

Students research real-time and historic temperature data of U.S. and world locations and analyze the data using mean, median and mode averages. Students use a calculator or electronic spreadsheet to compile their statistics and then graph the data using a spreadsheet or graph paper.

Alliance for Climate Education (ACE) is dedicated to educating America's high school students about the science behind climate change and inspiring them to do something about it - while having fun along the way. ACE educators visit high schools around the country to give students the scientific skinny on climate change through a fun and festive multimedia presentation.

ESA21: Environmental Science Activities for the 21st Century


ESA21 offers over 40 activities that engage students in a variety of environmental topics. The activities rely on a mixture of hands-on, field and Web-based experiences that give students a deeper understanding of the issues. Topic areas include: air, environmental science basics, the biosphere, earth, energy, home life and pollution.

EPA High School Environmental Center


The EPA’s High School Environmental Center offers students easy access to age-appropriate information on air, conservation, ecosystems, recycling, waste management, water and other topics. You can refer students to the Web site or use it as a classroom activity.

EPA Teacher Center


The EPA’s Teacher Center features a collection of environmental curriculum, reference materials, fact sheets, brochures, teaching aids and Web pages teachers can use to educate themselves and introduce environmental issues into the classroom.
